Daylight Savings Time – Is This Y2K Again? No, of course not! Y2K had computer rendered helpless and IT staff scrambling to contact software vendors. Two digit year codes had software vendors on the verge of starting over in the year 1900 instead of 2000. During Y2K computer did know how to handle the change. The difference with changing the Daylight Savings Time (DST) is simple. Computer will do nothing if they are left un-patched.
